Overview
Mozy has come a long way in a very short time. In recent years, it has proved that it means business, and has become a fierce competitor. It started conventionally, then moved on to provide great online solutions that are accessible from anywhere. The smart thing about Mozy is that it makes up for shortcomings in some areas with intelligent backup features that instantly make you want to subscribe to what it offers. Features
If Mozy is scored based on features only, it deserves 4 out of 5. In basic backup features, it is quite similar to other backup clients. Installation is very simple; you just download the Mozy set-up, install it, and it will appear as any other drive in your PC and, when you start uploading data, you will be able to access it from anywhere in the world.
Mozy has a great standout feature; you can keep it running in the background, and just go about your regular computer work. Uploading won’t interfere with any of your PC functions. The uploading process is very easy, and you can make your own upload schedule. This scheduled upload feature puts Mozy in a better position than its competition, because many of the other service providers only allow upload when a new file is added, or when some changes are made to current data.
Some of Mozy’s shortcomings include limited file sharing, and limited mobile access. Also, the online storage is for Android and iOS only; there appears to be nothing for BlackBerry users. Mozy’s online backup solution is not something that is meant for collaboration, either; it has no explicit sharing options, such as links for public viewing, or emailing.
Security
Mozy deserves 5 out of 5 for data security. It has some exclusive security features. It offers multiple levels of encryption and security; when you want to transfer your data, a 12-bit SSL encryption is used to protect it. Along with date transfers, the data storage is also very safe; Mozy uses 448-bit Blowfish encryption for data protection in storage. Moreover, you can create your own custom-made encryption key using military-grade 256-bit AES encryption.
Backup Storage
Mozy’s basic home plan offers 50GB of storage space. However, the plans are not that flexible. You only have two to choose from, and the plan with the maximum storage space offers only 125GB to cover three computers. You are likely to have a problem if you use multiple computers at home.
User-Friendliness
Mozy’s interface lacks style, but it is very usable. Uploading is as easy as dragging and dropping the desired files into the drop box, and you can go through stored data quickly to find any file, using the keywords.

Conclusion
Mozy is easy and user-friendly. All its features are really quite decent, but it clearly lacks in both mobile access and file sharing. Data storage and privacy are a major plus, though. Mozy is definitely a smart choice if data security and a user-friendly interface is what you’re looking for.
